Meet Becky

Hi, I’m Becky! I live outside Philadelphia and am so happy to connect with you. In my free time I love doing yoga, crocheting, watching sappy romantic shows, and cooking. I am really passionate about cultivating experiences that promote kids playing and learning. I am so excited to share that with you here!

My Family

My family is my greatest joy and inspiration. I am lucky enough to be married to my best friend and we have two beautiful children! We love being outside and going on adventures together especially with our German Shorthaired Pointer.

Educational Background

I am a proud Penn State University alumni! There I got my degree in Elementary Education. I also got my Masters in School Counseling from Wilmington University. I have had the incredible opportunity to teach in multiple states and work with students in a variety of grade levels. I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th grades across Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Maryland. I started Lessons By The Lake while living in Minnesota. I wanted to connect and share what I was doing in my classroom with other teachers around the world. I am passionate about creating resources that infuse social emotional learning and provide a meaningful experience. Lessons By The Lake is a place where you can get ideas and activities that are easy, no prep for you but does not sacrifice on the quality of the lesson.

Crocheting Background

Crocheting has always held a special place in my heart since my Bubby taught me how to do it as a little girl. I’ve only made blankets for most of my life. When I had my own kids, I wanted to create stuffed animals for them to cuddle. I fell in love with the art of making a special friend for a little child and it has grown into a business where I get to share that with others!
